Aboriginal Art

The Indigenous Art experience is an opportunity for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students from Chester Hill High to gain insight into their traditional and cultural practices by learning from a world renowned Aboriginal Artist, Janice Bruny. Janice and the students painted an Aboriginal mural of the Serpent Snake and a goanna. This was painted in a prominent position in the school. The students also painted on canvas their family totem. We then had an unveiling ceremony with elder Uncle Greg Simms performing a smoking ceremony. The Aboriginal community was invited.
